Professor Lin Pan-sung Awarded Icograda Education Achievement Award
Department of Visual Design professor Lin Pan-sung awarded The International Council of Graphic Design Associations design achievement award in 2002. On October 24th, International Design Alliance Taipei Night, Professor Lin awarded the education achievement award. He was the first Chinese ever, the award commend his contribution on design education.
Icograda was a professional visual design world association founded in London in 1963. The association started with the visual design group in Europe, South Africa, South America, and Canada; after 90s, the Pacific Ocean countries like Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan actively participated in it, it became the authority of Visual Design. The biggest event in the association was the IDA Congress held biyearly. The 2011 Taipei IDA Congress was the first IDA Congress after the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design, the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers, and Icograda officially combined to IDA in 2007.
Professor Lin said, “It is my pleasure to award the education achievement award from IDA. From my point of view, it is normally that I devoted to education since I am a part of NTNU. I am happy to represent NTNU for the contribution on design education. This is not my personal achievement, without the help of NTNU; I couldn’t do such a great thing. I expected NTNU to have more performances in the future.” Professor Lin was honored as the “Taiwan Design Mentor”, as a designer and educator, he would keep on building a friendly environment for designers.
