International Guest Conductor Called On NTNU Department of Music

International guest conductor Andreas Delfs called on NTNU on November 4th, received a great ovation from the department of music symphony. Director of department of music Lin Ming-hui represented to receive. Delfs indicated that the visit was short this time but he would pay another visit to NTNU again.

Andreas Delfs was born in Flensburg, Germany. He started to play piano and learned musicology since he was five. He became a conductor and composer at the age of 17 and entered Flensburg National Opera House. While studying in Hamburg, he assisted conducting in Luneburg. At the age of 20, he became the University of Hamburg symphony youngest music director ever.

Delfs often cooperated with the world greatest solos including Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Itzhak Periman, Mstislav Rostropovich, and Renee Flemming. He once said that, “my goal is to make every performance unforgettable. Let this power of affection enter our life. Everyone is dying to reach the communication with heart, this is what music can do.” The department of music symphony would be performing at the National Concert Hall on December 13th.
