Education Academic Group Century Federation Commend Outstanding Educator
“Republic of China Education Academic Group Century Federation” was held at NTNU on November 12th. Besides awarded the outstanding educator prize, service, prize, Professor Christian Helmut Wenzel from department of philosophy, NTU, was invited to give a speech.
China Education Society president Hsu Tian-ming indicated that the federation was to commend the outstanding teachers and educational researchers. What was more important was to unite 35 participated educational groups and addressed education reform plan. Minister Wu Ching-chi of Ministry of Education also mentioned that education needed professional supports. The competitive power of Taiwan relied on education.
NTNU principal Chang Kuo-en mentioned that even if there were some counterforces in the whole education reform process, the century development was still referred to success. Professor Wenzel talked about his Taiwan education observation and experiences from a foreigner’s point of view. He saw that although some of the students perform well on the jobs, they usually didn’t learn what they preferred in school. He believed that students should know what they wanted. The federation followed up with the education century review exhibition.
