Teacher Education Students Teaching Practice in Indonesia
Seven NTNU foundationers and teacher education scholarship students formed a team to do the teaching practice internship in Surabaya, Indonesia. The team would teach in a Taiwanese school in Surabaya, Indonesia from July 3rd to July 31st. The course emphasized on the language ability and mathematic ability.
Principal of Indonesia Surabaya Taiwanese School Yang Pei Mei indicated that she appreciated NTNU fully supported this activity. She hoped to build up long term cooperation in NTNU through this activity.
The internship in Indonesia hoped to help the students who were going to become a teacher increased the teaching experience and built up the ability to face the challenge in the future. The participated students checked students’ homework, designed the teaching materials for different lessons, and learned from each other.
The leading teacher Vice Professor Huang Chia Li from Office of Teacher Education and Career Service indicated that it was the first time the office led students to the overseas teacher training. It trained students to design the own teaching materials on the one hand, and provide a chance for students to experience teaching the different culture students on the other hand. She believed the participated students had all learned a lot from the activity.
