The 12th Asia- Pacific Conference on Giftedness- Children and Youth Summit in Dubai

The last mission for NTNU Department of Special Education Professor Chen Chao Yi as the president of Chinese Association of Gifted Education was to lead 46 elementary and middle school students to participate the 12th Asia- Pacific Conference on Giftedness- Children and Youth Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The summit lasted from July 13th to 18th.
These gifted students were firstly selected by schools, and then by city and county government, and final selection made by Chinese Association of Gifted Education to participate in the summit. These students were from different family, represented different city and county, and carried different expectation. The opportunity gathered these students to represent Taiwan and strive for Taiwan diplomacy. Most of them left their parents for the first time. They had to learn to be independent. Conquered time differences, food, climate, temperature, language, and the long flight. They had to immediately cooperate with students, from different countries, win the competition, and win the glory for themselves and our countries. 
Chinese Association of Gifted Education built up the bridge for Taiwan Gifted Education with the world. President Chen Chao Yi led the work team to prepare for eight months. When would be the next summit? 2014 in Beijing, China.
