NTNU had the longest history and the most complete system in the 12 normal universities in Taiwan. NTNU had trained many outstanding higher education people in the past years. NTNU College of Fine Arts focused on fine art, design, and art history. Combined the great tradition and innovation to exchange the experience with overseas arts institutes, held the exhibition, academic cooperation plan, and international seminar.

Mrs. Weng Chian Yu was born in Taiwan in 1950 and moved to Japan when she was 2. She started to act on the stage since she was 8. Afterward, she became the popular singer and actress in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Mrs. Weng Chian Yu had devoted to the international art and culture exchange. Her excellent skill and technique of wood block print works had won her a lot of great art prizes from Japan. She started to discover the beauty of wood block print since she was 25. She went to see one of Ms. Inoue Katsue’s exhibitions and was captivated by two prints of poppies. Since then, the hardworking Weng Chian Yu showed her talent on wood block print besides performing. She had great influences in Japan. She was not only an outstanding performer but also a great artist. She had made great contribution to the society. Honoring as the honor artist of NTNU College of Fine Arts would definitely promote the development of NTNU art and academic reputation and had positive influence for NTNU art students.
