NTNU and China Peking University 2012 Art Creation Exhibition Opening Ceremony
The “2012 NTNU Art Creation Exhibition at China Peking University” held by NTNU and Peking University was the most official art activity ever held since both schools signed the sister school contract in October 5th, 2011. It was the first time ever NTNU art pieces displayed in China as well. The exhibition was held at the exhibition hall of Peking University library. NTNU Principal Chang Kuo En led the teachers and students from NTNU College of Arts to participate in the opening ceremony. Many important people in art field attended as well.
Principal Chang Kuo En indicated at his speech at the beginning that NTNU appreciated Peking University support and assist for the exhibition successfully held. He mentioned the importance of art education in the university education, hoping to share the art education result in Taiwan and China and improved together.
The Director of National Museum of China Lu Zhang Shen saluted to the success of cooperation between NTNU and Peking University. He welcomed NTNU displayed the art works at Peking, for people in Peking to appreciate good works. He invited both schools to hold the exhibition in National Museum of China.
The theme of the exhibition was the works collected from “100 years, 100 paintings” and 40 pieces from “Department of Fine Arts Maintain and Preserve Plan”. The art works were all painted by the current or retired teachers and alumni from Department of Fine Arts. At the evening of the opening ceremony day, a seminar of “Taiwan and China Art Creation Academic Seminar” was held at Peking University. The seminar shared the art creation and education experiences, expected to promote the art education in the future together.
