NTNU Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling Cross Culture Exchange
United States University of Missouri Department of Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology called on NTNU Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling on the 7th of January. Both sides had cooperated for a long period of time since the “Bi-Directional Cross-Cultural Immersion Program (BCCIP)” was signed in 2009. This would be the third time University of Missouri called on NTNU. University of Missouri indicated that Taiwan had multi-culture. They expected to maintain the relationship with NTNU and work on the cross-culture research.
Professor Puncky Paul Heppner and Kenneth WANG from University of Missouri Department of Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology called on NTNU with 11 master and Ph. D students for 2 weeks. NTNU Department of Education Psychology and Counseling indicated that both sided had cooperated on the educational psychology, counseling psychology, language and cultural ability, and professional working and researching experiences. They arranged the lectures and culture experiences courses for both sides to share their research result. NTNU arranged the visiting to the famous spot in Taiwan, and even “long stay” in Taiwanese family, to deeply experience the culture.
NTNU first signed the BCCIP with University of Missouri in 2004 and started the short-term visit between two schools. In 2007, both school agreed on the double master degree certified. More and more students participated in the program. In 2009, NTNU even made a breakthrough in Taiwan education history and signed the “3+2 courses and Ph. D 1 year exchange student research and intern program” with University of Missouri. It opened up a new page for the education in 21st century.
