Summer study abroad opens world to NTNU students
The Office of International Affairs (OIA) does more than bring international students to NTNU -- they also want to send Taiwan's students abroad!
Some top options for students looking to see the world include summer exchange programs in Australia, the UK, the United States, Canada, and even South Korea, the OIA told students at a Tuesday informational meeting on study abroad options.
Studying in another country is a great way to learn foreign language skills you wouldn't get from classes alone, said Hai Ming-ming (海明明), NTNU's study abroad counsilor.
The meeting also featured students sharing their own experiences abroad. Lin Yuan-yi (林菀誼) of the English Department advised aspiring globe-trotters to take advantage of their time abroad and find a diverse group of friends and avoid only spending time with other Taiwanese.
Students who aren't yet convinced may be interested to know that some scholarships can be applied to the fees for studying abroad. Nicole Hsiung (熊子誼) of the OIA welcomed students who want to learn more to visit the OIA office for further details.
