Columbia U vice dean of education visits NTNU to talk academic cooperation
In preparation for the dual-degree program planned by National Taiwan Normal University and Columbia University in the United States, NTNU Vice President Cheng Chih-fu (鄭志富), College of Education Dean Chou Yu-wen (周愚文), and other school officials welcomed Columbia's Vice Dean of Education, A. Lin Goodwin, on Monday.
Cheng and other officials visited Columbia University in September of last year, during which time the two schools announced the decision to establish a dual-degree program. Later that year, Education Department head Hsu Tien-ming (許添明) headed to Singapore to get a better understanding of how Columbia and Singapore's National Institute of Education have managed their partnership.
Professor Goodwin, who is based in Singapore, represents Columbia's teaching college when talking with NTNU. Her visit to the school will help her get to better know NTNU's educational policies, course structure, and operations.
