English Website of NTNU Wins QS-APPLE Silver Award
National Taiwan Normal University recently received a silver award from 2015 QS-APPLE as the Best International Website Page, being the first university in Taiwan that won the title. The crystal award was put in the exhibition hall of international sharing.
With an aim to becoming an internationalized comprehensive university, NTNU attended the QS-APPLE education conference. There are nearly 1000 attendees every year, a conference similar to NAFSA: Association of International Educator and EAIE: European Association for International Education.
The 11st QS-APPLE conference and exhibition was held in late November in Melbourne, Australia. Ho Yao-Hua, Director of the Office of International Affairs went to the conference with three administrators.
The team, led by Vice President Wu Cheng-Chih, of producing the new English website has been working for two years. It’s a great honor that the English website of NTNU was awarded the silver medal of Best International Website Page. NTNU is the first university in Taiwan that receive this award. The judges thinks that the webpage is simple yet powerful with beautiful, representative pictures that viewers can feel the beauty of the campus. The website is useful, resourceful and user-friendly. People can locate what they want easily and there are some catchy information about NTNU that draw people’s attention.
Dean of the Office of International Affairs, Prof. Frank Y-H Ying said that in Times Higher Education 2015-2016, NTNU was as no. 1 in the category of internationalization. You will start to know NTNU by its website, the image of school was than built. This award proves that the effort of NTNU becoming one of the top universities is being recognized.
NTNU has embraced the brand new design of our English website, for example, the front page is separated by blocks of pictures creatively. The categories are simple. Links useful for foreign students have been added, like log in icon for acadm OpenCourse, application for academic degree, library service, and MTC website.
As well as for being user friendly, the new website is hoped to strengthen the sense of identity of foreign students in NTNU. We hope that visitors who come to the website can find out what they want easily and see the beauty of NTNU in the shortest time.
President Chang Kuo En was given the award by Dean Ying in an administration meeting. He praised that hard work of colleagues from the Office of International Affairs and hoped that NTNU will do better in the future.
