Julia L. Wu and Her Political Circle American Dream
NTNU celebrates the 70th birthday, Julia L. Wu, an alumnae popular in Los Angeles political circle, comes back to NTNU to share with us her career as a governor in the states. She is currently working as the Trustee Emeritus, Los Angeles Community Colleges District Board; Founder and Chair, Performing Arts Foundation for Asian-Americans, and Trustee, Hollywood Arts Council. Julia said that her story can’t be told in two hours, because she has lived an amazing life. Alumni from the Southern California Association also joined her talk as audiences.
Her past career positions also include teaching in the English Department, Los Angeles City College as a professor; Head Librarian, Secondary School , Los Angeles Unified Schools; Assistant Institutions Librarian, Los Angeles County Libraries; Director, Indochinese English Training Program, L.A.U.S.D; West Coast Correspondent, Chinese Program, Voice of America.
Apart from her dream, Julia thanks her husband in particular, contributing her success to her batter half. She encouraged everyone that “One must live with dreams. Without them, what a dull society we will have.” A dream of one’s own can influence the world. One student form the Chemistry department said that after hearing this wonderful sharing of Ms. Wu, he can imagine the life of hers. “I didn’t know that one Chinese lady can have such influence in the states.”
