Taiwan’s Young Inventors Grabbed 7 Gold at IEYI

The 12th International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) was held at Harbin, China from July 16th to 18th. On the 18th, over 300 students and teachers from 9 countries gathered at Harbin International Convention Exhibition and Sports Center. This year, we have 29 teams from Taiwan, grabbing 7 gold, 6 silver, 12 bronze and 6 special award.

The International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) is for 6 to 19 years old, focusing the innovation and creativity of children and teenager. The categories are “Green Technology” and “Technology for Special Needs” “Education & Recreation” “Foods & Agriculture” “Safety and Health” “Disaster and prevention”. This event this year is held by International Teenage Competition and Communication Center, China Committee of IEYI and IFIP Secretariat Team.
This year, a total of 84 work were exhibited. Children under 14 years old have handed in 34 works, mostly falls under the category of Education & Recreation. 50 works were from those over 14, they spent more time on 'Green Technology' and 'safety and health'. Taiwan team in this competition, the Professor Hong from the Department of Industrial Education led the group. The team from Taiwan has went through nationwide competitions all the way through smaller competition, making us a competitive team.
