Japanese culture was highlighted during the weekly international culture activity at the International Lounge this noon.

Ichikou Inoue, a Japanese graduate student who is studying political science at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), said that he would also learn a lot about Japanese culture although he is a native.

“Honestly, I would not know so much about my own culture prior to joining this event today,” Inoue said.

During the event, Japanese students tried to impress their fellow students and teachers who participated in the event by showing pictures and clothing of all Japanese-related items, such as sumo-matches and Japanese rice balls.

The Office of International Affairs organized the weekly cultural activity at the lounge every Wednesday noon. International students would have a chance to introduce their own countries to their classmates and friends here in Taiwan. Following this week, culture fairs for Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, India and Indonesia will be organized at the same place at the same time every week.
