TSA-CEH/NTUS Signed an MOU with the University of the Philippines
In response to the New Southbound Policy, the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Taiwan Strategic Alliance for Colleges of Education and Humanity/National Taiwan University System (TSA-CEH/NTUS) held an academic collaborative meeting and workshop on 20 November 2017 in UP Diliman.
The Taiwan Strategic Alliance for Colleges of Education and Humanity / National Taiwan University System is lead by NTNU, who integrates the resources and people of National Taiwan University (NTU), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), and National Cheng Chi University (NCCU) and contact major universities in South East Asia.
Vice President Wu Cheng Chih led a group of distinguished professors in education and humanity to attend the academic collaborative meeting and workshop in UPS on November 19th to 21st, sign a memorandum on academic cooperation between UP and TSA-CEH.
The University of the Philippines is the only national university in the Philippines. There are 17 branches of UP in the archipelago with different focuses. The visiting group went to UP, Diliman, a branch that focuses on education and humanity. This is where the headquarter of UP is located.
President of the University of the Philippines Danilo Concepcion, Executive Vice President Teodoro Herbosa, Prof. Gil Jacinto attended the meeting on the 20th and gave a brief introduction of their campus, academic strength and recent activities. Later, the professors from Taiwan met the students in UP to discuss education and humanity in the workshop.
Vice President Wu Cheng Chih think that it's a great chance for both sides to have a better understanding of each other and achieve a comprehensive cooperation between the University of the Philippines and TSA-CEH.
The event highlights the signing of a memorandum on academic cooperation between UP and TSA-CEH as well as a series of discussions about joint activities and international exchanges among the participating higher education institutions.
