The Only Master Class of Andras Schiff in Taiwan

This is Andras Schiff's third time visiting Taiwan. Before his concert, he came to NTNU first for the one and only master class in our music hall. Hundreds of music lover and professionals came to appreciate his performance and his lecture. It's a rewarding afternoon. In addition to the students, retired professor Lina Yeh, Director Yang Jui Se and Associate Professor Chen Kuan Yu as well as Rolf-Peter Wille, Zhu Daming also attended the master class.
Three students, picked by Schiff, played the pieces of Beethoven, which are Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 11 in B-flat major Op. 22, Piano Sonata in E-dur Op.109, Piano sonata No.31 in A flat Major, Op. 110. After the students played, Andreas Siff said that "sometimes music sings, and sometimes it speaks." He even demonstrated for the students in person and gave remarks on the performance of students. It’s such a valuable experience.

Sir András Schiff is a classical pianist and conductor, who has received numerous major awards and honors, including the Grammy Award, Gramophone Award, Mozart Medal, and Royal Academy of Music Bach Prize, and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in her 2014 Birthday Honours for services to music.
