Studying abroad is no longer just a dream! Four universities in the European Union, including the Department of Asian Studies, Palacky University in Olomouc, Pärnu College, University of Tartu, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Spain and Uppsala University in Sweden are our partners at the Erasmus program. We encourage students to study in Europe and learn from international peers.

 

 

The Erasmus Programme is a European Union (EU) student exchange programme established in 1987. Erasmus+ is the new programme combining all the EU's current schemes for education, training, youth and sport, which was started in January 2014. It’s an opportunity for students and teachers from countries outside the EU to study at schools in EU countries with subsidies covered.

Chen Yu Hui, student majoring in Chinese, went to studies with the Erasmus+ program to study at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. She received a living allowance of 3,520 euros and 1,100 euros for her flight. She enrolled three courses in the Department of International Relations and also a three-month Spanish course at her own expense.

 

 

Chen said that Universidad Rey Juan Carlos is well equipped and the course was taught in English. She did not encounter too many language barriers and she could also actively participate in class discussions. Overall, she cherished this time of studying abroad and also experienced a different university learning style.

 

Li Shuan, a Ph.D. student in the Chinese language department, taught the Chinese language teacher at the Asian Language Department of the Czech University of Palatsky. She received a living allowance of 2,500 euros for 5 months, the flight ticket and also local medical insurance costs.

 

During her stay in the Czech Republic, Li accumulated experience in teaching Chinese to local college students and graduate students. She also actively interacted with the Confucius Institute in the Czech Republic to participate in the Chinese Bridge and the Czech/Slovak Chinese Teaching Symposium. After the exchange, Li wrote a paper about the email behavior of Czech students and it was accepted by the 10th International Conference of. Chinese Language Teaching in Asia-Pacific. The Erasmus+ program encourages the international talent to travel between the EU and non-EU countries. The University of Uppsala, Sweden, which cooperates with the Department of CSIE of NTNU, received a generous subsidy for the project in May this year. It will be benefit the students and teachers in NTNU.
