NTNU Ranked 20th Globally in Education in World University Rankings 2021 by subject
Times Higher Education has announced the latest World University Rankings 2021 by subject: education in October. National Taiwan Normal University is ranked 20th, the best in Taiwan. The resources in education we put, the effort for internationalization paid off and NTNU stands a leading position in education.
In another world university ranking, reviled in March, NTNU ranked 31st in the subject of Education; eight years in the row as the top 1 in Taiwan.
In the subject of arts and humanities, NTNU is ranked 176th, the second university in Taiwan that is on the list of top 200. Psychology is ranked 201 to 250, Engineering and Information Engineering outperformed last year and Natural Science, Social Science is ranked the same.
A closer look to the overall scores of NTNU, we have grown steadily year by year in International outlook, remaining the top in Taiwan. We scored 30.8 in Research and last year it was 22.8.
Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for education subjects employs the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields. It highlights the universities that are leading across education, teacher training, and academic studies in education subjects. This is the first time that THE decided to announce all 11 subjects at once.
According to President Wu, since THE started the ranking of subjects, NTNU has been with in top 25. Four years ago, NTNU was at 22nd and was ranked 15th, 23rd, 20th accordingly.
President Wu said that NTNU has contributed to the development of national education. With the current impact of the epidemic in 2020, we take measures for distance education for an uninterrupted learning. In the future, we will continue to work harder to create an environment that inspires students to learn.
