Education in NTNU ranked 28th in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021
The latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 was just announced by Quacquarelli Symonds. Ten subjects from NTNU are on the list and three of them are within top 100 of the world. Education is ranked at 28th and linguistics at 53rd and Modern Languages ranked 98th. This is an embodiment of NTNU’s work on Internationalization and cross disciplinary collaboration. The resources and efforts of Internationalization on academic publishing and students make NTNU a vibrant learning community full of energy.
The ranking can be contributed to our endeavor in internationalization. We encourage teachers to cohost research studies with foreign scholars. Second, we encourage students and teachers to go abroad to visit oversea universities like UCLA, Penn state, Kyusyu University and invite foreign scholars to come.
Education has been the top among all universities in Taiwan for the last 10 years and 3 places advanced compared to last year. The growth of academic peer review and citation numbers resulted in the improvement of total score. The academic peer review of linguistics and modern language has been growing steadily as well as the H-index.
NTNU excels at Humanity and Arts and is ranked 204th as second in Taiwan, up from 220nd last year. Social Science is ranked 334th, up from 340th last year.
In respond to this, President Wu Cheng Chih stated that the ranking is only a part of the mission of the school. In the future, NTNU will continue to strive to achieve even higher levels of educational and academic excellence and establish the finest campus environment for learning and research. In the face of corona virus last year, NTNU provide online learning environment to students and will keep working on building an environment that boost the interest of study and research.
QS World University Rankings covers 51 subjects in 5 fields and is based on four indicators: academic peer review, employer reputation, citations per faculty and H-index. 10 subjects in NTNU made it to the list. In addition to education, linguistics, modern language, information science, business management, electrical engineering, chemistry, astrophysics, art design and English literature.
