NTNU and Kyushu University Held Workshop Together

As the key sister school of NTNU, Kyushu University has been involved with many activities with NTNU for the past few years. Last year, both universities send teachers abroad as exchange for the first time. Professor and Director of Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in Investment and Asset Management Christine W. Lai went to Kyushu University Business School, QBS in the fall semester of 2020 for 15 weeks.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the workshop was held online and offline with the topic of Asian Business Strategy. Prof. Lai expressed her gratitude of the assistance given by co-workers during her stay at QBS, including Dean of the Economic Research Institute of Kyushu University Kenji Iwata, Director of the Center for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Studies Kenji Iwata, Department Head Akiya Nagata and comments provided by Takefumi Mokuda, Hiroshi Hoshino, Isao Murafuji and Masaki Matsunaga. Those ideas are truly valuable.

Except for teaching, Prof. Lai was invited to publish research paper at QBS. She worked with Prof. Tsai Shih Chuan from NTNU, Prof. Konari Uchida and Prof. Tsung-ming Yeh to work on finding out how investors react on stock price of Japanese companies on the company’s attitude towards environmental, social and governance, ESG.
