A Virtual Midsummer Night’s Farewell to NTNU International Graduates
When you see the blooming Golden Shower trees, you know the graduation season is coming. Students are counting down their final days at school. Countless memories were made on the campus and the graduates-to-be are seizing their opportunity grasping the last moments as college students.
Every June, the Office of International Affairs organizes a Farewell Party for International graduates to have a nice, cozy gathering to celebrate their graduation. This year, the NTNU International Youth Team organized an online Midsummer Night’s Farewell with the name inspired by the Shakespearean drama for a dream like farewell.
Due to the influence of Covid, the OIA has prepared a greeting video for international graduates, including greetings from Vice President for International Affairs Liu Hsiang Lin, photos of students attending campus activities, messages from graduates and warm blessing from International Youth Team. Vice President Liu encouraged international students to share their experiences at NTNU with friends and family and welcomed students to stay in Taiwan after they graduate. ‘NTNU will always welcome you home,’ he told the graduates.
In total, 50 international students enrolled in the online Midsummer Night’s Farewell. The OIA hopes that every graduate can stay strong and healthy during the pandemic and have a bright future.
