Dean Kao Wen Chung Elected as President of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society

Dean of College of Technology and Engineering Kao Wen Chung is elected as the President of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) 2023/2024. Dean Kao became the first Taiwanese President of the society and one of the few Taiwanese Presidents in the society of IEEE, which is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. The is beneficial to the international visibility and influence of Taiwan’s scholar in the field of Consumer Technology. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers was founded in 1963 with 420,000 members and 120,000 student members from more than 170 countries.

Prof. Kao Wen Chung he has been with National Taiwan Normal University since 2004. His current research interests include system-on-a-chip (SoC) as well as embedded software design, flexible electrophoretic display, machine vision system, digital camera system, and color imaging science. He is the pioneer researcher on Electro-Phoretic Display in Taiwan. Prof. Kao was recognized as IEEE Fellow in 2019. In 2021, he was enlisted on the World's Top 2 Scientist proposed by Stanford University.

In 2014, Prof. Kao initiated the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Taiwan (ICCE-Taiwan) as Founding General Chair and it became one of the top three conferences on consumer electronics in the world. He was invited to host the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics 2020 in Las Vegas as the first Taiwanese professor. Prof. Kao was honored to be supported by the Executive Committee and the council of CTSoc. He attributed his success to various IEEE CTSoc events by the Taiwan team over the past few years. The success is not only for him but also for the trusted Taiwanese people.
