【Pandemic Announcement】Academic Affairs COVID-19 Measures – All Courses to Go Online Starting May 9th
1.This guideline is based on the “Guidelines for School In-Person Class Suspension Due to COVID-19 Pandemic” (https://covid19.ntnu.edu.tw/news_detailV2.php?newsid=216) announced by the Ministry of Education. Further adjustments shall be made based on actual pandemic development and risk assessment.
2.All university courses shall switch to online instruction for two weeks as part of a drill starting May 9th (Mon).
3.Upon consultation with their students, faculty may switch to online instruction till the end of this semester if there are students who have tested positive or listed as close contacts of confirmed Covid-19 cases in their courses. Such courses should follow the guidelines in the university’s announcement of May 3rd, 2022.
4.During the two weeks of online instruction, faculty may make use of university classrooms for course video recording or synchronous online instruction purposes. For laboratory works, internships, and practicums that cannot be conducted online, course assistants should make the necessary arrangements for students to use the laboratory or other spaces. Masks should be worn and social distancing maintained at all times during such courses.
5.Faculty members in need of any technical or software related support for their online instruction are advised to contact NTNU Campus Online at https://www.co.ntnu.edu.tw/index.php/en/homepage-english/
6.Master’s and doctoral degree examination may be conducted via video conferencing. However, this must receive approval from their respective department / institute / degree program meetings in accordance with “NTNU Degree Conferral and Graduate Degree Exam Regulations”. The exams must also be recorded in its entirety.
7.The deadline for thesis/dissertation submission and obtaining diploma is August 31st, 2022 for Spring Semester of the 110th Academic Year. Please visit “Graduation” page in the Office of Academic Affairs website for more information.
8.These guidelines will be modified as the pandemic develops. Please follow our latest announcements in NTNU Bulletin and Office of Academic Affairs website closely for any new updates.
