Over 100 Universities Worldwide Send Well Wishes to NTNU’s 100th Birthday
On the occasion of the centennial celebration of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), 104 of the current 394 renowned global partner universities congratulated NTNU through videos and letters. Their heartwarming wishes bring the existing connection even closer.
Among them, Dr. Santa Ono, the 15th President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia, a key partner of NTNU, greeted NTNU with a happy centennial in the congratulatory video. He said, “NTNU has long been recognized for its excellence in teacher education and linguistics studies. Throughout history, NTNU has nurtured talents combining traditional values, innovative ideas, and global visions to pursue public well-being and develop a knowledge-based economy in Taiwan.”
President Ono emphasized that UBC is equally committed to harnessing our resources for the greater good. He looks forward to strengthening the connection with NTNU to address issues of global relevance and to build a more just and sustainable world together in the years ahead.
Next, the 18th President of the Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Eric Barron, sent his congratulatory message to the students and faculty of the university: “NTNU is renowned for mandarin training and research in the fields of linguistics and psychology, which has enriched the partnership between PSU and NTNU, including joint workshops and the publication of new knowledge through books, articles, and joint workshops with Penn State faculty. International research and collaboration are a foundation of higher education, and Penn State looks forward to the growing partnership in the years to come.”
In addition, Kyushu University President Tatsuro Ishibashi expressed his heartfelt wishes to NTNU. He said, “It has been an honor for Kyushu University to have active student and faculty exchanges in many fields, including a joint symposium, intensive Chinese courses, and university-wide collaboration agreement since 2018.”
