NTNU Leads Taiwan Delegation to 2025 APAIE Conference, Strengthening Global Academic Ties
The 2025 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference was held from March 24 to 28 in New Delhi, India. The Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) organized a joint exhibition featuring 44 representatives from 15 Taiwanese universities. The delegation was led by President Cheng-Chih Wu (吳正己) of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), who also serves as Chairman of FICHET.
This year's Study in Taiwan booth focused on the theme of technological development, showcasing Taiwan's internationally renowned strengths in semiconductors, information and communication technology (ICT), and biotechnology. Representative Baushuan Ger (葛葆萱) of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India, along with Assistant Representative Jen-Chun Tsai (蔡人錞) and Director of the Education Division at TECC Peters Chen (陳立穎), also visited the booth to show their support.
President Wu, FICHET Executive Director Tzu-Bin Lin (林子斌), and NTNU Vice President for International Affairs Yi-De Liu (劉以德) also took part in the 2025 Taiwan-India Higher Education Leaders Forum, hosted by FICHET. Nearly 70 university presidents and international affairs officers from both Taiwan and India participated. The forum featured in-depth discussions on semiconductors and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the event, FICHET and the Association of Indian Universities renewed their memorandum of understanding, originally signed in 2010, with the goal of deepening higher education collaboration and attracting outstanding international talent to study and conduct research in Taiwan.
During the event, NTNU also met with representatives from key partner institutions such as the Université de Bordeaux (France) and The University of British Columbia (Canada) to discuss important next steps in strengthening academic cooperation.
