Global Talent Meets Taiwan’s Future at “Shaping Tomorrow” Job Fair
The NTNU Office of International Affairs recently hosted the “Shaping Tomorrow” job fair bringing together international students and leading Taiwanese companies to explore career opportunities in digital innovation and sustainable development.
Focusing on the themes of digital transformation and sustainable transformation, the event on June 2 reflected broader shifts in the global economy. It served as a platform for direct conversations between international students and company representatives, allowing students to explore job opportunities and employers to meet candidates with diverse cultural and academic backgrounds. More than 150 students from over 30 countries connected with 12 companies through on-site interviews, career consultations, and networking throughout the day.
Students from countries including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Hungary, Colombia, and Egypt, among others, brought a wide range of academic backgrounds—from engineering and information technology to education, management, and sustainability. Their strong interest in pursuing careers in Taiwan and their active engagement with company representatives highlighted the potential of international talent to contribute to the local workforce.
Participating companies represented sectors ranging from technology and logistics to marketing, media, and sustainability services. These included Unity Sustainability Services, Veda International Group, Blue Orcas Cargo Express Co., Ltd., Plus Pay, LSY, Shiny Brands, Lion Travel, iKala Interactive Media, LOTES Co. Ltd., Zig Inc., and Tidyman Home Lifestyle Organizer. On-site services such as résumé reviews and job consultations were provided. Several companies began the recruitment process with introductory interviews, some invited students for second-round interviews at their offices.
Unity Sustainability Services CEO Steven Cheng-chang Tsai noted that NTNU’s international students bring valuable skills to companies with global ambitions. “They offer not only language proficiency but also cultural adaptability and an international outlook, qualities essential to sustainable growth in global markets,” he said.
NTNU’s Vice President for International Affairs, Yi-de Liu, emphasized the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting the career development of international students and helping them build futures in Taiwan. “Through events like this job fair, students gain insights into Taiwan’s workplace culture and employment possibilities,” Liu said. “At the same time, companies are encouraged to offer diverse opportunities that help retain talent in Taiwan.” The multilingual support and résumé consultations available at the event helped create an accessible and supportive environment as students took their first steps into the job market.
More than a career fair, “Shaping Tomorrow” reflects NTNU’s institutional priorities to integrate digitalization, sustainability, and internationalization into its educational mission. With continued investment in bilingual education and interdisciplinary talent development, NTNU is working to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for international students seeking to study, intern, and launch their careers in Taiwan.
