NTNU College of Education Signs MOU with Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences to Deepen Educational Research and Exchange
On October 16, 2025, the College of Education (COE) at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with the Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences (VNIES). The event marked a significant milestone in fostering academic collaboration and educational research between Taiwan and Vietnam.
The ceremony was presided over by Executive Vice President Dr. Yao-Ting Sung, Vice President for International Affairs Dr. Yi-De Liu, Dean of COE Dr. Hsiu-Lan Shelley Tien, Associate Deans Dr. Silvia Wen-Yu Lee and Dr. Huei-Mei Liu, along with faculty members Dr. Hsin-Heng Chen and Dr. Tsui-Chun Hu. The VNIES delegation was led by Director General Dr. Lê Anh Vinh.
In his opening remarks, Executive Vice President Dr. Sung expressed warm welcome and appreciation to the VNIES representatives, emphasizing that this MOU symbolizes a new milestone for educational collaboration between NTNU and VNIES. He noted that the agreement will deepen cooperation in education, research, and cultural exchange, creating more international opportunities for faculty and students. Dean Tien reflected on the origins of the partnership during the College’s visit to Vietnam last year and expressed optimism that the MOU would promote faculty and doctoral student exchange, joint research, and academic publication, enhancing the internationalization of both institutions.
Dr. Lê Anh Vinh, Director General of VNIES, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that the collaboration will pave the way for joint initiatives in educational research, teacher development, and international conferences, contributing to the advancement of education in the Asia-Pacific region.
The MOU outlines various areas of cooperation, including faculty and staff exchange, doctoral student and guest lecture exchange, sharing of academic materials and publications, cultural activities and short-term exchanges, as well as collaborative research and conferences.
The ceremony was also attended by distinguished scholars from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand—Dr. Anchalee Srikolchan, Dr. Achira Uttaman, Dr. Pawinyaphat Woraphan, and Mr. Jinnawat Lerdprad—as witnesses, symbolizing the expanding network of educational collaboration across the Asia-Pacific.
The signing concluded with a group photo session, marking the beginning of a promising partnership between NTNU and VNIES. Both institutions look forward to deepening their cooperation and contributing to global educational development and mutual understanding.
