Special Education students showed their good hearts to help orphans by organizing a public charity sale on the campus from Dec. 3 to Dec. 7.

"We will donate all the money to Chung Yi Social Welfare Foundation (忠義育幼院)," said Iris Li (李煜雲), a sophomore from the Department of Special Education (SPE).

The foundation is an orphanage in Jingmei district of the city. It is also one of the organizations where SPE students would offer their education-related volunteer services regularly.

A group of SPE students organized the charity sale at the main campus' "Sunshine Boulevard" (日光大道), where they displayed used clothes and homemade cookies.

"What we would not need anymore may be useful that comes in handy for somebody else," Li said. "We really hope that more and more people would come and join the activity to show their love and help those kids at the foundation."

Chris Fan (范延碩), a Chinese Department freshman who was selling his homemade cookies at the scene, said that he was encouraged by constant supporters who would visit their booths and buy his cookies

"I am hoping that our good-hearted efforts can be echoed by more good-hearted people,"he said.
