National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) staff and students now have an alternative choice in terms of grocery shopping, as the Fortune Plaza was opened today.

"This place is a place for the combination of business and education as well as an elevation for NTNU to merge with the community,” said Gou Yih-shun (郭義雄), NTNU president.

Gou made his remarks during the press conference for the grand opening ceremony. He would call the plaza, which is located at the ground floor of the Complex Building, a place for the combination of business and education because there are eight different shops at the plaza, including a convenience store, a bakery, a record shop, a florist’s shop, an arts gallery, etc. These shops offer internship opportunities part-time job vacancies to NTNU students every now and then. In addition, the arts gallery will also sponsor for NTNU students for exhibition needs and purposes.

Gou encouraged the public to visit the plaza and shop around.

"We are a part of the community so we would like to share out campus with our neighbors, too,” Gou said. "Opening the plaza to the public will be a good start.”
