International students at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) explored more about Taiwan during the two-day trip to the Sun Moon Lake last weekend.

"They (international students) would have a chance to know more about the country and make more friends through the trip as well,” said Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director Chuang Kun-liang (莊坤良).

In addition to the Sun Moon Lake, the group also visited the recent-renovated 921 Earthquake Museum.

The OIA organized the trip and paid all necessary expenses as well but only 30 vacancies were opened for registration by NTNU’s international students. OIA staff Nicole Hsiung (熊子誼) said that OIA forwarded a notice of the trip via email to every international student approximately two weeks in advance. Hsiung said that prior to the establishment of OIA this July, Office of Student Affairs used to host the activity in the past.

These 30 students came from 11 different countries but Mandarin and English were the major languages for them to communicate during the trip.
