Seniors Liao Yen-bo (廖彥博) and Wang Yun-chieh (王昀婕) from the Department of Physical Education won the championship of the “Water Boy and Wonderful Girl” pageant, which was a part of the 2008 University Water Sports Day today.

"Whoever is confident enough, funny enough and sunny enough will be able to win the championship,” said Erin Kwan (官佳蓉), a judge for the patent, a graduate student from the Graduate Institute of Sports and Science and a model from Catwalk.

The couple made their presentation topic “10 consecutive snapshots.” As most people would believe that they would be performing something about taking pictures, the couple, however, took advantage of the same pronunciation of Mandarin of "snapshots" and "snaps" and began with Wang’s snapping her palms on Liao for 10 times on the stage. Their alternative concept to express “10 consecutive snapshots” immediately made the crowd burst into laughter.

In addition to the “10 consecutive snaps,” Wang also showed her tricks of “swallowing her own fist” which surprised everybody at the scene. It also anchored their first place position of the pageant.

Sophomore Nana Her (何佳娜) of Department of Civil Education and Leadership and her partner sophomore Lin Bo-han (林柏翰) of Department of Physical Education also became another focus during the activity, as Her showed up with a pair of oversized shades.

To made themselves special, Her and Lin decided to perform the duet The Rooftop, originally by entertainers Jacky Wu (吳宗憲) and Landy Wen (溫嵐) and they won the crowd’s support with big applauses in return.

"Being young and cute would be our style. I think that is also what made us special,” Her said.

Department of Physical Education Lecturer Fifi Kuo (郭馥滋) said that this pageant activity was designed for students to show themselves in their own ways of expression. Tacit understanding with partners, impromptu responses, confidence and presence would be the highlights for judges to decide who the winners would be.

"Just show yourself would be the key to win,” Kuo said.
