Enterprises, Government and Schools Cooperate to Start Digital Content Talents Cultivation Plan

<div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">As an important industry in “Challenge 2008: National Development Plan”, digital content industry still lacks of talents seriously. The Association of Ten Outstanding Youths (short for Shih-Chieh Association) Electees thus initiates “Digital Content Talents Cultivation Plan” and actively constitutes a program of “Executive Master of Digital Content Creativity, Research and Development”, which gives courses from this September. </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">The Digital Content Cultivation Plan is co-conducted by enterprises, government and schools. After joining the exam and being matriculated, the students sign up a training contract with the cooperative suppliers and then study the Master degree and accept business training at the same time. After accomplishing the education and being approved by the matched companies, the students can serve for those companies for at least two years. During the training period, 100,000 dollars will respectively be subsidized by government and offered as training fees by the corporations. The students pay tuition and <span>miscellaneous fees in accordance with the standard of National Graduate Institute. </span></div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">Examined and adopted by Ministry of Education and Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, the program respectively gives courses by National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan Technology University and National Taiwan University of Art, and totally 50 graduate students will be enrolled. Besides giving courses of digital content, the three universities cooperate with corporations and arrange the “Ten-Outstanding-Youth Lectures” which are lectured by the electees. Thus students can come into contact with various kinds of experts and learn from their successful experiences. </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">This talent-cultivation program was initiated by 28 Ten-Outstanding-Youth electees, including the founder of Acer Inc. Shih Chen-Jung, the former <span>superintendent of Taichikid.com Deng You-Li and comic artist Tsai Zhi-Zhong. The president of Shih-Chieh Association Shih Chen-Jung indicated that this program, collaborating and contributing by the members of Shih-Chieh Association, aims to transmit the valuable experiences to more young students and promote the industrial development.</span></div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">One of the initiators Deng You-Li also indicated that the program curriculum, co-conducting by the enterprises and school authorities, is for the purpose of cultivating Masters of creativity, research and development for the industry. The students are expected to have plenty acquisition so that the curriculum is different from other general ones, in which the required courses are including “Shih-Chieh Lectures”. The annual electees are invited to be the faculty, who are generous to share their precious experiences and elevate young generations. </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">Kuo I-Hsiung, the President of National Taiwan Normal University, also recognizes this program raised by entrepreneurs. Teachers in Department of Fine Art in NTNU have great faculty, by whom many distinguished students were cultivated and currently have great achievement in society. Corporations are now willing to participate in training students and provide resources (budget, etc.), and thus students may get on track with business to devote themselves to the society after graduation. Kuo also believes that the students who receive the whole academic and professional specialty training not only fit in the enterprises but also become important roles to lead domestic development of digital content industry. </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph"> </div> <div style="TEXT-JUSTIFY: inter-ideograph; TEXT-INDENT: 12pt">The Enrolling General Regulations will be sold in mid April; in early May to register and in June to hold the entrance exam.
