OUR New Director Vows to Make a Change

<p>By Vickie Lo<br /> Assistant Executive Officer</p> <p>National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) Office of University Relations (OUR) decided to make a change for more promotion for the school.</p> <p>Starting from today, remaining responsibilities will be divided into Center for Campus and Community Services, Center for Careers and Alumni Services and the newly established &ldquo;Center for Integrated Marketing Communications.&rdquo;</p> <p>&quot;We want to introduce more of NTNU to the public, in return of potential increasing income,&rdquo; said Jerry Hsia (夏學理), newly assigned director for OUR.</p> <p>Hsia interpreted NTNU-related nouns in his own way.&nbsp; Starting with Hoping East Rd., he said that the name of the road reflects the meaning of hope and love.&nbsp; NTNU could stand for &ldquo;naturally true naturally unique&rdquo; as well.</p> <p>&quot;We have various departments at NTNU, which makes this school a competitive one,&rdquo; Hsia said.&nbsp; &ldquo;OUR will vow to make this school more competitive.&rdquo;</p> <p>Hsia took oath of his office and became the fourth director for OUR in early November.&nbsp; The new reform plan for OUR became his priority, as Hsia said that OUR should mean optimistic, unceasing and reliable.</p> <p>&quot;We have to make the change from inside out,&rdquo; he said.</p> <p>OUR was established in August of 2006, and it was the first public relation organization of its kind at all education-related universities.&nbsp; There are currently 16 staff members at OUR but Hsia said that he may hire more employees to join his team.</p>
