The Chairman of Delta Electronics, Bruce Chen (鄭崇華), gave a speech to National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) students at the auditorium today.

Chen talked about “Challenge for 21st Century: How to protect the environment, save the energy and develop sustainably.”

To emphasize how important the earth was to humans, Cheng spent about 40 minutes explaining the astronomy, focusing on the truth that the earth was far tinier than the Universe. He encouraged the audience to appreciate what we had and paid more attention to this land.

Chen pointed out the seriousness of global warming. He said that the scientists had noticed its high-leveled threatened impacts on humans long time ago; however, they tend to be conservative when they announce the impacts in order of severity of global warming to the public because they were afraid of arousing the unnecessary fear.

In the past, people always proclaimed that they protected the environment for the future generations, he said. However, he said, for college students, the changes of earth had been happened.

"Now, you protect the environment for yourself,” he said.

Chen’s speech was the last one of series activities with the title “Find Your Own Way” held by the Center of General Education (CGE) of NTNU. The assistant, Liou Ming-feng (劉明峰), who was responsible for the “Find Your Own Way” series activity, said they was going to have the other series of activities next semester.

"We always tried to figure out the reasons when we saw some people walked out during the speech,” he said.

Liou said that the CGE would try their best figure out the topic to catch students’ attention.
