Students of GITI Won 1st and 2nd Place in Cross-Strait Interpretation Competition
On April 12th, Huang Zhi-Jie and Guo Tian-Gun, students from the Graduate Institute of Translation and Interpretation, NTNU, defeated selected students from across China and won the 1st and 2nd place in the 1st Cross-Strait Interpretation Competition in Xiamen. Their stunningly superb performances drew several media down to NTNU to interview these two winning students. Huang, the champion, felt that Taiwanese students were more flexible in life or business topics while Chinese students were better at more serious topics. Guo, the runner-up, shared her practice tips of listening to speakers with different accents.
