Taiwan Ranked 2nd in 2017 International Earth Science Olympiad
The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the 11th International Earth Science Olympiad, IESO 2017 in Nice, France. A total of 108 students from 34 countries attended this year. Taiwan is ranked the second in the world with two golden medals and two silver ones. The team were selected from among 478 students after a series of tests and training by more than 10 professors led by NTNU’s Chang Chun Yen. Huang Shen Chang, a gold medalist from Taichung Municipal Taichung First Senior High School, received a silver on earth science project.2017.0913
Rising Number of TOCFL Test-takers Revels Popularity of Chinese
In response to the rising number of foreign student and foreign employees at schools or companies, the Steering Committee for the test of Proficiency-Huayu, assisted by NTNU under the commission of the Ministry of Education developed a scan test for Chinese as a Foreign Language. There will be two parts, listening and reading, for schools or businesses to know a test takers' Chinese ability in short time.2017.0912
Bronze for Women’s Basketball Team at 2017 Universiade
The Chinese Taipei Women basketball team member Wang Wei Ling, Huang Hsiang Ting and Chen,Yen Yu are from the Department of Athletic Performance, NTNU. On August 28th, the team earned a bronze medal against Russian team 81-66 whose players are 2 meters tall. With the cheering voice of thousands of supporters, the players shook their shoulders dancing in the field with great joy.2017.0912
Weightlifter Lo from NTNU Grabbed Another Bonze in Women's 90kg Class
Chinese Taipei weight lifter Lo Ying Yuan received the fourth bronze medal in the weight class of 90kg. A student from the Department of Athletic Performance, Lo lifted 105 kg in the snatch modality and 130 kg at the clean and jerk for a total of 235 kg and eventually obtaining a bronze medal for the Taiwanese delegation.2017.0912
