Kuo from NTNU Joins the World Class Orchestra

One of the three major orchestra and the top 1 in northern America, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra came to Taiwan to give two concerts in Taipei. Violist Kuo Wei Ting is was graduated from NTNU, the department of music. The courses he took during the school not only built a solid foundation of his music skills, the required vocal training also benefited him a lot. There are other 3 Taiwanese musicians in the orchestra, who studied abroad since little or for college.

Alumnus Jing Yu Elected as TWAS Fellow

Recently, The World Academy of Sciences announced their Fellows in 2015 and one of them is Yu Jing, an alumnus of the Department of mathematics graduated in 1972. TWAS, The World Academy of Sciences is a merit-based science academy established in 1983, uniting 1,000 scientists in some 70 countries. The 26th General Meeting was held in Vienna, Austria, from 18 to 21 November 2015.

President Wang Gin-Pyng Talked About Congressional Diplomacy

On April 16th, Wang Gin-Pyng, President of Legislative Yuan as well as a NTNU alumni of the Department of Mathematics, returned to his alma mater and shared with current students stories of the less known congressional diplomacy.

Alumnus of Class '67 Donates NT$1 Million

English major graduate William Lin (林文雄) of Class '67 donated NT$1 million (US$31,250) to his alma mater while President Gou Yih-shun (郭義雄) decided to spend the money on language-related enhancing programs and those students in monetary problems.
