A Critical Introduction of Six Talks on Loneliness by Liao Yu-Hui

“Loneliness is the beginning of a completed life. Without the experience of solitude, one knows not how to get long with others.” Center of General Education invited noted writer Liao Yu-Hui to give NTNU students a critical introduction on the Six Talks on Loneliness written by Jiang Xun, and to share her own realizations on loneliness. The author, Jiang Xun, is the owner of Unitas Publishing Company, as well as a noted Taiwanese esthetician and writer. This book is a collection of 6 talks themed in loneliness by Jiang Xun in 2002, as invited by Unitas.

Individual Exhibition of Ma Yu-Jun: Track

Ma Yu-Jun, a third year graduate student of the Graduate Institute of Performing Art, NTNU, is a cross-disciplinary artist in music, fine art and digital media. She held an individual exhibition entitled Track in the library of Kungkuan Campus to show her works from college till now. She was majored in music composition in college and in stage design for opera in graduate school. The highlight of this exhibition was the models of stage design, every little piece of which was carefully hand-made by Ma. She felt that the oil painting collection best represented who she was.

NIAG Will See You Next Year in NTSU Taoyuan

National Intercollegiate Athletic Game (NIAG) ended on May 6th. In the closing ceremony, NTNU ended the game with excellent performances and splendid firework, and handed the responsibility of hosting NIAG to National Taiwan Sport University (Taoyuan) with farewell and blessing.

Wu Rui-Ying Pointed Some Directions in Workplace for Students

Invited by the Division of Careers Service’s My Turn to Work series, Wu Rui-Ying, Chief Operating Official of 1111 Job Bank, came to NTNU on May 11th to answer the questions of students who were unsure of their future and to give them tips that would help them to find their career. Wu emphasized the formula of “knowledge plus skill equals ability”. Students needed to be prepared both in terms of their professional ability and mentality before entering into workplace. They also needed to know their own strength and weakness, as well as the opportunities and threats they’d face in workplace.

Business Magnates Talked about Winning Tips at Work

With the global recession, unpaid leaves became common phenomena. In correspondence to the Job Fair on May 20th, NTNU held 6 lectures to provide graduate-to-bes a sundry of preparation they could do before entering into workplace. The first lecture was on May 7th.
