Chinese Teaching Forum Brings New Ideas into Chinese Teaching

In the trend of leaning Chinese, we are moving toward the direction of computer assisted language learning. The International Forum on Chinese Teaching in International Schools was held on September 19th. Many International School teachers joined the forum and have produced some inspiring discussions.

Academics from the Institut de France came to NTNU

Ministry of Culture invited two heavyweights from the Institut de France, Marianne BASTID-BRUGUIERE and Jean-Robert PITTE to deliver speeches in NTNU. One speech is about bilateral relationship between Taiwan and France and the other is about the dining culture of France. Distinguish guests included former minister of education and alumni Guo Wei-Fan also joined the event.

Doshisha University called on NTNU

The President of Doshisha University Koji Murata and some administrators came to visit NTNU on September 11st and President Chang Kuo-en welcomed them in person. As more and more Japanese are interested in learning Chinese, it’s possible that more Japanese students would come to NTNU.

NTNU reached 376 in QS Ranking

QS World University Rankings of global higher education for 2015/2016 were announced on September 15th. Among more than 40,000 universities worldwide, the ranking of NTNU has improved. In 2013, NTNU was ranked 485 in 2013, 416 in 2014 and this year 376. Among universities in Taiwan, NTNU is ranked second on the criteria of internationalisation, and fourth on the criteria of academic reputation. It’s needless to say that the world has recognized the research quality and internationalization of NTNU. The new rankings show that National Taiwan Normal University has truly become a comprehensive university.

NTNU Signs Memorandum with Yokohama City University

On September 8th, the Dean of the College of Science Chia Chih-Ta signed a memorandum on academic exchange with Masaru Tahcibana, the Dean of the Graduate School of Nanobioscience from Yokohama City University.
