National Taiwan Normal University's Education department has been ranked number 50 worldwide, according to the latest rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The score indicates NTNU is the top in Taiwan and a leading institution for teacher training in Asia.

Olympic gold medalist Berki visits campus

NTNU received a special visitor last Friday, when Hungarian Olympic champion Berki Krisztián made the school his first stop on a visit Taiwan. Berki, who grabbed the gold in the pommel horse category of the 2012 London Olympics, is in the country at the invitation of the Chinese Taipei Gymnastics Association and the Sports Administration.

NTNU research team develops stair-climbing patrol bot

Researchers at NTNU's Applied Electronics Department have developed a new surveillance robot that can boldly tread where no robot has tread before. The machine, which operates on four caterpillar tracks, can carry out automatic patrols and has no problem overcoming even a steep set of stairs.

NTNU, University of South Carolina agree to increased sports and rec exchanges

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and the University of South Carolina in the United States signed an agreement Wednesday to expand cooperation in the fields of sports and recreation. The agreement was made between NTNU's College of Sports and Recreation Dean Chang Shao-hsi (張少熙) and South Carolina's College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management Dean Brian Mihalik.
