NTNU Established Department of Visual Design
Echoing government’s policy on creative industry, NTNU established the Department of Visual Design and started to recruit students in 2009. This new department, led by award-winning Professor Lin Pan-Song, is regarded by high school graduates who wish to enter the creative industry as the arts and design related department that they wish to go to the most.2009.0825
Newly Established College of Social Science Sees Education as its Core Value
In 2009, a College of Social Science is officially established in NTNU. Under this new college are departments including the Graduate Institute of Political Science, the Graduate Institute of Social Work, and the Graduate Institute of Mass Communication (which were originally under the College of Education), and newly established research centres on subjects such as media literacy, aborigine, and minority groups.2009.0825

2009 Cross-Strait Cricket Championship Completed
Last weekend, NTNU hosted the 2009 Cross-Strait Cricket Championship, in which universities and colleges from cross-strait were invited to compete with one another.
