Opening Concert of NTNU Music Festival: Rain and Passion

NTNU Music Festival had its opening concert in the evening of April 17th in the plaza in front of College of Music. Though it was raining cats and dogs, the jollification and the quality of students’ performance still attracted a huge number of audience.

Students of GITI Won 1st and 2nd Place in Cross-Strait Interpretation Competition

On April 12th, Huang Zhi-Jie and Guo Tian-Gun, students from the Graduate Institute of Translation and Interpretation, NTNU, defeated selected students from across China and won the 1st and 2nd place in the 1st Cross-Strait Interpretation Competition in Xiamen.

President Wang Gin-Pyng Talked About Congressional Diplomacy

On April 16th, Wang Gin-Pyng, President of Legislative Yuan as well as a NTNU alumni of the Department of Mathematics, returned to his alma mater and shared with current students stories of the less known congressional diplomacy.

The boiling costume march on April 16th opened the 1st NTNU Music Festival held by the College of Music, beginning a two-months musical feast.

A Master Class by Violinist Kloss

Violinist Sherry Kloss, successor of internationally renowned violinist Heifetz and his violin, was invited by Chen Qin-Hong from the Department of Music, NTNU to have a master class on the 14th of April. Kloss encouraged students who were aspired to be a teacher to develop the potential of their students. “If you can do more than one thing, then go for it,” remarked Kloss. She had a musically gifted student who ended up going into the field of physics and architecture. It is her responsibility as a teacher, she said, to let her students explore the world of music care- and pressure- free.
