Chair Prof. Liao Ping Hui Talked about Internationalization

Prof. Liao Ping Hui is a Professor of Literary and Critical Studies and Chuan Lyu Endowed Chair in Taiwan Studies, UC San Diego. He is also a chair professor at the Department of Chinese as a Second Language. Recently, he came back to Taiwan and visited President Wu Cheng Chih, Vice President Sung Yao Ting, Ying Yung Hsiang with the accompany of Prof. Chien Ying Ying. They talked about international issues and exchange opportunities. President Wu Cheng Chih presented the letter of appointment for the next academic year to Prof. Liao.

Dept. of EE Got 1 Gold 4 Silver 3 Bronze at 2018 FIRA RoboWorldCup

Prof. Jacky Baltes, Prof. Hsu Chen Chien and Prof. Wang Wei Yen of the Department of Electrical Engineering led the team to 2018 FIRA RoboWorldCup and received 8 medals including 1 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze.

Alumni Tan Chee Lay, Choong Kam Ko received Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award`

In order to recognize foreigners who have studied in Taiwan, the Study in Taiwan (SIT) Talent Database Project Office of the Ministry of Education has set up the first "Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award". Recently, the list of awardees with outstanding achievement and contribution in the fields of academic research, industry & commerce, politics, humanities & communications and other which deserves to be recognized was revealed. Among 7 awardees, there are two alumni from NTNU. One is Choong Kam Kow in the field of Art and Tan Chee Lay in the academic field.

EMBA Students Visits the Silk Road

The goal of EMBA, NTNU is to educate an outstanding high-level manager. In addition to accumulated management skills, one should learn the knowledge of managment and to see changes globally. Dean Chou De Wai and Director Wang Shih Ju went to The Belt and Road Initiative at Lanzhou and Dunhuang from September 12 to 19.

Taiwan Got 6 Golds and 1 Bronze at 2018 Tug of War International Federation Outdoor Club Championships

The women's tug of war team, composed of teammates of National Taiwan Normal University and students from Taipei Jingmei Girls Highs School, went to Cape Town, South Africa in September for the 2018 Tug of War International Federation Outdoor Club Championships. They have grabbed 6 golds, 1 bronze and kept the 500-kg title for 5 consecutive years; they also triumphed in the under-23 500-kilogram event and senior 540-kg weight class for two years in a row.
