Chairman Chang Yue Shan from the Department of Technology and Application and Human Resources Development said that in this competitive market, T-shaped person, which means someone that have the depth of related skills and expertise in a single field. The horizontal bar is the ability to collaborate across disciplines with experts in other areas and to apply knowledge in areas of expertise other than one's own. The Department of Technology and Application and Human Resources Development is home to many T-shaped talents.

NTNU Alumni Yang Su Han Tops the First Prize at International Competition for Conductors

Su-Han Yang, a 28-year-old youth conductor and alumni of NTNU, received the first prize at the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors on November 25th. He is the first Taiwanese that receive an award in that competition. In addition to 250,000 euro, invitations from lots of International orchestras awaits the award-winning conductor. Students and professor of the Department of Music, NTNU are happy for him. Yang is grateful that Prof. Apo Chin-Hsing Hsu led him to become a conductor.

Professors and Alumni of NTNU Assisted in Winning the 44th World Skills Competition

Taiwan received 4 Gold medal, 1 silver, 5 bronze and 27 honorable mentions at the 44th World Skills Competition. The gold medalists were trained by professors of NTNU and NTUST. The professors also served as the judge and expert at the 44th World Skills Competition.

In response to the New Southbound Policy, the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Taiwan Strategic Alliance for Colleges of Education and Humanity/National Taiwan University System (TSA-CEH/NTUS) held an academic collaborative meeting and workshop on 20 November 2017 in UP Diliman.
