Prof. Gao Xingjian shares his creation path of Soul Mountain and Mountain and Sea

The first Gao Xingjian Art Festival was held in May in the name of the Nobel prize receiver. On May 20th, Prof. Gao visited NTNU and shared his experience of writing Soul Mountain and Mountain and Sea.

2017 Gao Xingjian Art Festival

This year marks that sixth year of Prof. Gao’s teaching at NTNU. From May 15th to June 15th, a series of Gao Xingjian Art Festival takes place in forms of special exhibition, sharing meetings and forum for creativity to celebrate our friendship with Nobel laureate Prof. Gao. The Musical of Soul Mountain and Mountains and Seas”-A Chinese Rock Musical will be on stage again. In return to this, Prof. Gao present a piece of Ink wash painting “The Thinker” to NTNU. President Chang receives that paining and the work will be placed at the new Art Museum of the Masters opened this May so that the spirit of creativity of Prof. Gao will be kept at NTNU.

Wansai Kyoko Okada creates scholarship for NTNU

To promote the connection between Taiwan and Japan as well as foster the study of Taiwan-Japan relationship, Mr. and Mrs. Okada and Chairman Dai establish a scholarship for the Graduate Institute of Taiwan History and signed the MOU. Director General of the Tourism Bureau came the signing event.

Prof. Jeng Yih Receives Honor from EGU

Retired Professor Jeng Yih of the Department of Earth Sciences is awarded as the lifelong honor member of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and they also asked him to be the judge of the Outstanding Student Poster and PICO (OSPP) Awards in 2017.

Green University Forum for a Greener Campus

Green University Union of Taiwan started in 2013. NTNU being the first initiator was commissioned by the Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan to establish the Northern Environmental Education Regional Center in 2014. On April 27th, NTNU held a forum about "Environmental Experience Education on Campus: Energy Literacy "and invited members of Green University Union to exchange ideas and discuss.
