NTNU Chair Professor Gao Xingjian Awarded the French Legion of Honor
Gao Xingjian, chair professor of National Taiwan Normal University and Nobel Prize laureate was awarded the Commandeur of the French Legion of Honor by French President Emmanuel Macron. Professor Gao is the first Chinese novelist honored with the highest honor in the French tradition that lasts 200 years, in recognition of his continuous commitment to outstanding achievements in literary and art creation. Prof. Gao Xingjian is a well known artist, novelist, playwright, critic, painter, photographer, film director, and translator who in 2000 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. The First Tenured Asian Woman Professor at Caltech, Prof. Nai-Chang Yeh Shines in the World of Physics
The first tenured woman professor in physics and also the first tenured Asian woman professor at Caltech, Prof. Nai-Chang Yeh was granted the Yushan Scholar Program by the Ministry of Education in year 2021. Prof. Yeh was invited to teach at NTNU and she started the lessons in Taiwan in July. Born in 1961 and grew up in Chiayi, Taiwan, Prof. Yeh set the goal at age 12 and went to the US for graduate education and obtained her Ph.D. in physics in 1988 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She became the Assistant Professor of Caltech at only 26. She focused on quantum materials, topological materials, low-dimensional materials and nanotechnology.2022.1016
Prof. Apex Pang-soong Lin Awarded Honor Laureate in 2022 CIIPE
CIIPE was co-founded in 1979 by CSU faculty and designers Phil Risbeck and John Sorbie, and Northern Colorado artist Bob Coonts. It serves as a unique educational resource allowing graphic design and art majors to work directly with designers study the work closely with current CSU graphic design faculty and gain valuable career experience preparing and installing the exhibition. Unlike other international design competitions that publicly invite participants to submit works, the committee of CIIPE sends invitations to designers worldwide to participate with their latest works.
