NTNU students win prestigeous iF awards for design

A doctoral student of fine arts at NTNU has had his design prowess rewarded with a coveted iF award for design. Chen Shih-lun (陳世倫), who is also head of the Visual Communications Department at China University of Technology in Hsinchu, won the award in recognition of his work, "The Story of the Calligraphy Brush" (毛筆的故事), which centers on the calligraphy brushes traditionally used to write Chinese characters.

Gao Xingjian and NTNU bring "Shan Hai" rock musical to national stage

National Taiwan Normal University and Chinese Nobel Laureate Gao Xingjian (高行健) are bringing Gao's "A Tale of Shan Hai Jing" (山海經傳), a rock-musical, to the national stage. The production will feature four showings at the National Theater between Friday, June 28 and Sunday, June 30.

English Department journal selected for international index

NTNU's English Department is making a name for itself globally thanks to its biannual journal, Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies. The journal has been selected for indexing in the renowned Arts and Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), which covers over 1,300 arts and humanities journals across the world.

NTNU's Hung Yu-chao breaks record in Intercollegiate Games

Hung Yu-chao (洪鈺釗), a Master's student at NTNU, finished his last go at the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games with quite an achievement -- breaking an 8-year record for track and field. The Physical Education student came in with a record time of 01:51.07 for the 800 m middle-distance run.

Chang secures second term as university president

NTNU President Chang Kuo-en (張國恩) was elected to another term Wednesday after a vote held by the school's standing committee. The barrier for reelection was one-half of eligible votes.
