Shih-Yu Chorus Brings Gold from World Choir Games
Shih-Yu Chorus, made up with NTNU students and alumni, went to Sochi, Russia, from July 6 to join the Olympiad in Choir, the biennial World Choir Games. The team joined “open competition” and bagged two golds in the contemporary and folk music categories. The group came back to Taiwan on July 19th. Its conductor, Chen Sheng-chang, said that in total there are 283 teams from 76 countries. They joined the parade at Sochi before the game. Two years ago, Shih-Yu Chorus attended the World Choir Games at Busan, South Korea.

NTNU Student Wins Osaka Music Competition
National Taiwan Normal University doctoral student Wang Chien Tang won a gold medal in the strings division at the 16-year-old Osaka International Music Competition. He is the first Taiwanese musician who won the prize.

"Shan Hai" musical covered by national media
Word of A Tale of Shan Hai Jing (山海經傳), a rock musical put on by National Taiwan Normal University and Gao Xingjian (高行健), a Nobel Prize winner, spread throughout Taiwan this week after the show's dress rehearsal proved a hit.

NTNU students got a sneak-peek Thursday night of the rock musical Tale of Shan Hai Jing (山海經傳), written by Chinese Nobel Laureate Gao Xingjian (高行健) and sponsored by NTNU and its students.
