Student Club Yearly Review Stage 2: A Carnival of Performances
The second stage of the student club yearly review, a carnival of performances, was held on My 19th at the auditorium. 18 clubs signed up for the this stage to compete for a wide range of awards. No contestant did not work their hardest and give their best to impress the judges and the audience. The show was opened by a glamorous and sexy belly dancing, followed by the stunning rumba and jive performances by the ballroom dancing club. The night was boiling, filled with applause. On May 22nd, Friday, there would be an award ceremony at the auditorium.2009.0516
Yearly Competition and Carnival of Student Clubs
NTNU has a vigorous culture of student clubs. On May 16th, Office of Student Affairs held a competition and carnival of student clubs, which was a yearly event, to show the innovation, creativity and vitality of NTNU students. All clubs pulled together all they’d got to impress the judges, including portfolios of club activities and slogans. The audience responded with laughter and applause. According to He Wan-Yi, a student as well as the chief organizer of this event, the judge would score based on how clubs operated and how they prepared for their activities.2009.0516
International Academic Symposium of Educational Administration
On May 16th and 17th, an international academic symposium on educational administration was held by the Graduate Institute of Educational Policy and Administration. On the opening ceremony, Huang Nai-Ying, chairman of the graduate institute, and Lu Mu-Lin, political deputy minister of the Department of Education, were there to give opening speeches. The symposium was entitled as “the Strength and Beauty of Educational Administration”. The strength referred to techniques and abilities, whereas the beauty referred to art and tactfulness of educational administration. Topics include: administrative ethics, administrative leading, policy planning, policy execution, policy review, administrative knowledge, educational finance, educational organization, educational marketing and educational competition.2009.0515
NTU Visited and Paved the Road for Cooperation
On May 15th, Xie Yuan-Fu, dean of the College of Humanities, Shi Meng-Long, director of the Office of Research and Development, and Wen Hong-Yui, chairman of the Department of English, National Taitung University (NTU) paid a visit to NTNU to pave the road for future cooperation. Principle Guo Yih-Shun was there to welcome them in person and to elaborate on his vision for the potential cooperation. The guests from NTU also had a tour to the Office of International Affairs, the College of Music, and the Centre of Cultural and Creative Industries, NTNU.2009.0514
