Knowing the grades of the joint college entrance examination, students needed to submit a priority list of departments that they wished to go to, and now the result of the distribution has been published as well. The Department of Physical Education, NTNU, remained to be the top choice of high school graduates.

NTNU Alumna Wu Qing-Ji To Be Minister of Education

Graduated in 1973 from the Department of Education, NTNU, Wu Qing-Ji will become Taiwan’s new Minister of Education. He has full educational experience – including primary teachers and several administrative positions in the Ministry of Education.

NTNU to Hold the 3rd International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO)

Year 2009 is the 10th anniversary of the 921 Earthquake, and the 3rd International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) will be held in Taiwan by NTNU from September 15th to 21st. More than a hundred high school students and teachers from 18 countries will participate in this event.

NTNU Established Department of Visual Design

Echoing government’s policy on creative industry, NTNU established the Department of Visual Design and started to recruit students in 2009. This new department, led by award-winning Professor Lin Pan-Song, is regarded by high school graduates who wish to enter the creative industry as the arts and design related department that they wish to go to the most.

Newly Established College of Social Science Sees Education as its Core Value

In 2009, a College of Social Science is officially established in NTNU. Under this new college are departments including the Graduate Institute of Political Science, the Graduate Institute of Social Work, and the Graduate Institute of Mass Communication (which were originally under the College of Education), and newly established research centres on subjects such as media literacy, aborigine, and minority groups.
